Tenancy Support / Warden Service

Warden Service

Yorkshire Coast Homes provides support to our tenants both directly via our wardens in our Care Team and in partnership with other agencies. For example:
• Coastcall – emergency alarm for elderly and vulnerable people
• Foundation Housing – support for young single tenants
• Stonham Housing Association – support for vulnerable people whether they are young, disabled or have learning difficulties

The aim of our sheltered housing and support services is to allow older and vulnerable people to remain living independently in their own home. The support offered by our wardens and partner agencies ranges from help to find and set up home, advice and help with bills, forms, repairs, to a listening ear and reassurance. Our services are designed and delivered according to individual need and demands, and aim to ensure improvements in the quality of life and the protection of elderly and vulnerable people.

How to apply for sheltered accommodation
You can approach us directly or be referred directly by your health visitor or by social services. Allocation is not based purely on housing need (as it would be with another application) but takes into account your care and support requirements. Applicants need to be registered on our Housing Register. We will offer you a suitable type of sheltered accommodation if we think you will benefit from it.
