Homeless
If you are homeless
There are a number of organisations in Scarborough and Whitby who may be able to assist you if you are homeless and normally resident in the Borough of Scarborough. Depending on your circumstances Scarborough Borough Council may have a duty to assist you, and you should attend one of their offices so your details and circumstances can be investigated. They will work with you to try and prevent you from becoming homeless, even if they do not have a duty to provide you with accommodation. They can direct you to other agencies who will try to help you. This can range from practical advice to financial assistance for example, by providing a loan for the payment of a bond with a private landlord. Regrettably, there is a high occurence of homelessness within the Borough of Scarborough, so you should explore all avenues available to you to try and keep your existing accommodation, and again, with sufficient notice, help can be provided in assisting you to remain in your home.
