Moving from one Yorkshire Coast Homes property to another
If you are a tenant of Yorkshire Coast Homes and wish to move to another Yorkshire Coast Homes property, you must complete a Housing Application form. Forms are available from any of our offices and you must ensure that you complete the Yellow Housing Application form.
Mutual Exchanges
You can swap with other Council tenants or tenants of other Housing Associations. The Local Housing Office will have a Mutual Exchange book which gives details of people wanting to move. You can use this list to search for a suitable property. You will then need to contact the other tenant. When you find a suitable swap you should complete a Mutual Exchange Form from the Housing Office which will need to be approved by Yorkshire Coast Homes. You should receive a decision within 42 days. You must not move until you have received permission from both sets of landlords.
Homeswapper
If you need to move out of Scarborough, then you can swap with a tenant of another Council or Housing Association. You can register on a national computer matching service and it will search for swap partners and send you their details. You still need to gain the permission from both sets of landlords before your swap can take place. Alternatives
