Scarborough Jobmatch - 08.09.2010
Introducing...
Scarborough Jobmatch is a new £1.4 million, three year scheme, launched to help connect unemployed people with jobs and help employers find and keep the right staff.
Scarborough Borough Council has commissioned Babcock Enterprises (previously VT Guidance), and Groundwork North Yorkshire and Working Links, to provide a job brokerage service that connects employers needing skilled and qualified staff with people who are unemployed.
For people looking for work, Scarborough Jobmatch will provide a free service that is tailored to the needs of the individual. This will include helping them develop skills necessary to secure employment such as:
• Preparing CVs
• Completing application forms
• Interview techniques
As the service is tailored to the individual needs of the client any specific needs can also be addressed benefitting them.
To find out more about the service you can visit the Scarborough office at Pavilion House, Westborough, or attend one of the drop in sessions at the shop, which can be found on the High Street at Eastfield between 10am and 4 pm Tuesday – Thursday.
In addition Scarborough Jobmatch will be looking at other centres that can be used for drop-in sessions throughout the town, and hope to have a facility in Barrowlciff available for job seekers to access shortly.
