Property Repairs

If you need any repairs carrying out on your Yorkshire Coast Homes property, please report them to our Call Centre on 0845 065 56 56 or, click here to fill in our online repairs reporting form.

If you report a repair by telephone you will need to give the following information to our Call Centre staff:
• Your name
• Your address
• A daytime telephone number
• As much detail about the repair as possible, for example the type of repair, its location, the name of the appliance, or the type of materials
• Times when you are available for a Yorkshire Coast Homes Inspector to come and identify the type of repair work that needs to be carried out and organise for someone to carry out the repair
• If you are elderly, vulnerable, disabled or have other special needs

Please note that vandalism should be reported to the Police before you contact our Call Centre.

As of the 1st December 2006 Inspace Partnerships have been appointed for our repairs and maintenance contract. All repairs are categorised dependent upon their nature, into different response times:

Type of repair

Target timescale

Emergency - To remove immediate danger to people, avoid serious damage to property, make the property secure or restore essential services e.g. water, electricity.

Within 24 hours

Urgent – Work that needs to be carried out quickly, to overcome serious inconvenience to the tenant, or to prevent more damage to the property.

Within 7 days

Non–urgent – Work where repair does not cause inconvenience or danger to occupants or the public but should not wait for programmed maintenance.

Within 28 days

Your Yorkshire Coast Homes Tenants or Leaseholders Handbook tells you which repairs we are responsible for and which you are.

If you require an emergency repair, outside of office hours, you should ring our Emergency Repairs Call Centre on 01723 351558.

Gas Servicing

We arrange for the central heating, boiler and gas fires in all of our properties to be serviced every year. This service is very important. Faulty gas appliances can cause death, often from undetected smoke fumes. We will contact you when the service is due and you must allow the fitter into your home to carry out the gas safety check.
Do not obstruct the fresh air vent to any gas appliance.
If you think your boiler is faulty contact your local Yorkshire Coast Homes' office as soon as possible.
If you smell gas, follow these simple steps:
• Turn off the mains gas supply immediately (the on/off lever can be found next to your gas meter)
• Open all windows and doors
• Do not turn on/off any lights or sockets, strike matches, or light cigarettes
• Ring Transco, the gas emergency service, on 0800 111 999 (freephone)
• Then ring our Call Centre on 0845 065 56 56

Please note, gas appliances that you have installed are your own responsibility; always use a CORGI (Council for Registered Gas Installers) registered fitter.
