Warden Serviced Accomodation
Yorkshire Coast Homes provides sheltered housing and support services to allow older and vulnerable people to remain living independently in their own home.
The support offered by our Wardens and partner agencies ranges from help to find and set up a home, advice and help with bills, forms, repairs to a listening ear and reassurance. Our services are designed and delivered according to individual need and demands, and aim to ensure improvements in the quality of life and the protection of elderly and vulnerable people.
Accommodation Based
Throughout the Borough YCH has a number of properties that are linked to an onsite Warden, usually referred to as "sheltered housing". This is accomodation that allows residents to take advantage of the following:
- A sense of security and a peace of mind
- A 24-hour intercom with a support service
- Company of other residents when wanted, and privacy when it is not
- In some areas residents can also take advantage of communal facilities.
Our sheltered housing has been designed to make sure that our residents enjoy privacy, safety, comfort and convenience. The accommodation typically includes:
- Self-contained, centrally heated flats or bungalows built to meet the needs of our older clients
- A communal lounge for socialising
- A communal laundry room with automatic washing machine and drying facilities
- Maintained grounds and gardens
- A 24-hour community help alarm link in every property in case of emergencies.

Floating Support
Anyone living in a YCH property may be eligible for assistance from the Warden Service, through “floating support”. This is when a property is serviced by the wardens but the property is not linked with a specific warden site.
